

A Bit About Me
With over 35 years of experience in education, technology, STEM, teacher training, and public awareness programmes, Tim Lavery is the Editor in Chief of Exploring EdTech, a digital magazine, news, and podcast platform that highlights the latest news, trends, best practices, and case studies in EdTech, with a focus on the European context. Exploring EdTech publications reach over 10,000 educators and education leaders across the EU, providing them with insights, inspiration, and guidance on how to effectively integrate EdTech into classrooms and schools.

As the Founding Director of EdTech Ireland Network, the innovation network for the Irish EdTech sector, Tim connects and supports over 130 member organisations. EdTech Ireland brings together EdTech innovators, educators, leaders, researchers, founders, and funders through online and in-person events, services, and resources.

Additionally, Tim founded and led the award-winning World Explorers Bureau for 13 years, an education, leadership, and public-engagement consultancy and speakers bureau. This organisation delivered high-quality and innovative solutions for events and education programmes to bespoke publications, training and education programmes for clients such as Intel, NASA, Microsoft, UC Berkeley, Redpoint Resolutions, and Berghaus.

Tim is also an award-winning programme manager, an Intel Master Tutor and Ambassador, a Microsoft Innovative Educator, and a mentor to several EdTech start-ups.

He was honoured in Ireland with the title "Digital Trailblazer of the Year" at the National Digital Business Awards 2024 in recognition of his lifetime contribution to education technology.
